Senior Accountant

Reports To:  Controller

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will assist the Controller in day-to-day financial operations.  This person will be responsible for working to prepare quarterly and annual reports. Assist in the close and documentation of policies, procedures and technical position papers. The ideal candidate will be a CPA with 3-5 years of accounting experience and a keen understanding of US GAAP and the ability to explain complex financial information to both financial and non-financial people. This person will act as a conduit of information so excellent written and verbal communication skills are highly valued.

 

General workload will include, but not limited to:

  

General Duties

  • Lead month end closing activities to ensure accuracy and completeness

  • Perform primary reviews of monthly analyses and journal entries performed by others

  • Assists with the preparation, review, and analysis of operating and financial results

  • Assists with other key closing and reporting activities, including technical accounting research, review and preparation of disclosures and other information used in Predictive Oncology’s SEC filings, as needed, and requested by management

  • Engage in ad hoc financial projects and process improvements

  • Research the financial impact of transactions of all types and sizes, documents results

  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency

  • Identifies problems and inconsistencies within financial or operational data

  • Understands and appreciates technology and leverages its importance in driving efficiency and scalability in a cost-efficient manner

  • Assists with financial planning and forecasting

  • Compiles financial information for various data requests throughout the year

  • Assists with other task as requested by management

 

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or associated field (required)

    • CPA (required)

 

  • Experience:

    • 3-5 years of public accounting (Big 4 firms) and/or industry experience (preferred)

 

  • Required Skills:         

    • Experience with the following software packages is preferred: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central

    • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization

    • Solid understanding of GAAP technical accounting literature and ability to analyze transactions, identify proper treatment and document analysis

    • Good organizational and time management skills

    • Self-starter with experience overseeing projects to ensure timely completion of identified objectives
