CRO Business DevelopmentExecutive - Pharma

The Opportunity:

Ready to put your business development skills to further precision medicine and give hope to the cancer patients of today and tomorrow? We are looking to strengthen out our BD team through the addition of a CRO BD Executive, focused on driving new and existing business relationships with Pharma, Diagnostics and Biotech companies. This would be a great opportunity for a creative, entrepreneurial individual to play a key role in Helomics’ next phase of growth in the precision medicine space.

Helomics is a personalized medicine company located in Pittsburgh, our mission is to improve the standard of care for cancer patients (especially gynecological) by harnessing the power of the patients own living tumor to help the oncologist guide treatment. We use our unique tumor drug response profiling platform, together with the latest Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)-based genomic profiling and our vast D-CHIP AI powered knowledge-base of 150,000 tumors, to generate a roadmap that provides additional context to help the oncologist personalize the patient’s treatment. We firmly believe our approach of interrogating the living tumor provides a more functional approach to precision medicine than relying on genomics alone. In addition, we leverage these two unique core competencies in our unique boutique CRO services offering, HelomicsDiscover.

 

Position Scope and Focus

  • You will identify and build business opportunities for HelomicsDiscover services, focused on drug discovery, early biomarker discovery and validation, preclinical research and clinical trials.

  • You will build relationships with clients, understanding their needs and the value proposition of our CRO services and craft solutions that generate positive business impact for the client.

  • Understand and manage the client relationship and the multiple stakeholders at the account to drive business at the account in a timely manner

  • Responsible for the financial results of the HelomicsDiscover business, including annual planning,  forecasting, ROI and costs of sales and delivery of services

  • Act as an “evangelist” for the HelomicsDiscover business

  • Provide timely and actionable market feedback on our services to the leadership team and work together with our internal teams to incorporate that feedback in to our services

 

Required Education & Experience

 

  • MBA with BS in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology or a relevant scientific discipline

  • MS or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline (preferred)

  • MS with BS in scientific field

 

  • Results-driven and customer focused: Demonstrated track record in speciality CRO service business development, including the ability to deliver client focused solutions that drive revenue and increase client satisfaction

  • Market Knowledge: Understanding of the CRO marketplace, especially related to biomarker discovery, drug screening and clinical trials

  • Good Communicator: able to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Account -focused: able to successfully navigate and leverage stakeholder hierarchies at key accounts for both client and Helomics benefit.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of demonstrable experience in a BD role selling CRO services to Pharma, diagnostic and biotech clients

  • Innovator: creatively solve problems and look for new opportunities to drive the business and expand our service offering

Additional Skills and Experience

  • Practical experience of solution selling techniques

  • Experience of selling services that include software or an informatics component would be desirable
